BRINGING THE REAL-WORLD LOCATIONS BEHIND DISNEY’S BIGGEST FILMS TO LIFE

Challenge

During a jam-packed schedule of global and local activities celebrating Disney’s 100th anniversary, we needed to curate a campaign that would stand out, touch the hearts of Disney fans and maximise impact on a small budget.

Activation

We discovered that 42% of Brits were unaware that some of Disney’s most loved films are based on real-world UK locations.

So, we dived into the Disney archives to tell the stories behind the iconic locations for the first time. Working with leading Disney photographer, Linda Blacker, we released a series of exclusive pictures showing iconic Disney scenes recreated from a modern-day perspective.

This multi-platform campaign was further elevated on social via a competition that drove fan engagement with this beloved brand.

Impact

The combination of archival storytelling, exclusive photography and fan engagement made this Disney’s most successful UK campaign of the year.

In a sun-dappled park, a couple stands close together, surrounded by lush greenery. The man, dressed in a brown sweater and white hat, holds a lead for one of the two striking Dalmatian dogs at his side. The woman, in a flowing green dress and wide-brimmed hat, leans into him, exuding a stylish charm. Their playful poses suggest a dynamic interaction, set against the serene backdrop of tall trees and a vibrant meadow.
A stylish woman in a vibrant red coat elegantly strides past the grand façade of St. Paul's Cathedral, holding a black umbrella. The intricate architectural details of the cathedral contrast with the iconic red double-decker bus in the background, capturing a lively London scene.
A woman with vibrant red hair, dressed in a flowing dark green coat, walks gracefully among ancient standing stones in a lush grassy landscape. The sky above is a blend of soft blues and whites, casting a serene atmosphere over the historic site.
