Earlier this week, PrettyGreen helped with the press launch of the 2012 Festival of Sport, who are partnering with Wings For Life. Joined by Cycling Weekly, Triathlon Europe, Triathletes World,, and local Cornish club One and All, it was a day filled with sport & fitness experts.

Based at the historic St Michael’s Mount in Penzance, this will be the first time a sporting event has adopted a three-day festival format with events including Open Water Swimming, Triathlons, Beach Runs and Cycling to name but a few. With the Olympics having just finished, there will undoubtedly be a buzz around competitive sport in the UK.

Wings for Life will be supporting the event as a the official charitable partner with competitors being given the option to raise much needed funds for research into finding the cure for Spinal Cord Injuries as well as educate the public about the charity and ways to avoid back problems in the future.

An amazing event and a worthy charity, this is set to be the big participation event next year for those Weekend Warriors, fitness experts and MAMILs (middle-aged men in lycra!) Get your place whilst you can and do your bit for a very worthy charity.

Meanwhile, back in Clerkenwell, as Team Sport start to verge into ‘festival’ territory, the Music & Culture Team can be seen donning their running shoes and performing burpees.

EDIT: Check out Nick on his *appropriate* mountain bike. Rumour has it the roadies couldn’t support his weight.
