Three created the world’s first holographic 5G ad

5G is coming and it will impact our lives in every way imaginable and unimaginable….Futuristic right?

This month, Three unveiled the world’s first holographic 5G ad, as a celebration of 5G home broadband and the awesome power of 5G in London.

For three nights, London’s South Bank was transformed for the public to marvel at an ad combining 3D video content and holographic projection, like you’ve never seen before. The content was in collaboration with some of the UK’s hottest new talent such as music star RAYE, who was drawn to project by the exciting, electrifying and fresh capabilities of 5G. RAYE was amongst other internet superstars who demonstrated the revolutionary change that 5G will have, through a series of 5G transformations.

The potential of Three’s real 5G is a game-changer and the innovative moment marked the launch of Three’s high speed 5G broadband, set to revolutionise people’s homes in London. 5G will mean customers can cancel their landline and instantly access fibre-like ultrafast speeds. We’ll be watching our all favourite artists perform as holographic projections in no time!

And we’re not the only ones shouting about Three’s 5G.

Three’s real 5G was included in 57% of the coverage that went live and the ad itself was viewed by 2.7 million people across earned media. The story was featured in the Evening Standard’s Best Picture of The Day on two consecutive days, whilst Campaign reported that “Three is pushing the “real 5G” line because it contains vastly more 5G spectrum than other UK mobile operators, following a government auction last year. It owns 100MHz of contiguous spectrum, while Vodafone has 50MHz, while O2 and EE have 40MHz each”.

So, bye bye boring-buffering and see you later slow-streaming… 5G is officially in the house!
