The X-Files: Cold Cases, An Immersive Media Launch

To celebrate the launch of new audio drama X-Files: Cold Cases we worked with Audible to thrill guests including influencers, media and Audible members as they faced their childhood nightmares. Guests witnessed the first “alien” autopsy in the subterranean lair of the newly opened Postal Museum, even though technically it was the first autopsy of a quasi-vertebrate creature if you love X-Files as much as we do!

Audible and PrettyGreen tasked guests with cracking a case from a never-before-released X-Files archive as they had to solve the mystery of the terrifying Flukeman’s escape. Guided by excerpts from the gripping new audio drama, the immersive experience brought to life Mulder and Scully’s world as attendees used their senses and intuition to progress through a series of rooms in the unnerving post office tunnels.

We were briefed by Audible to bring this gripping production, that will surely get generations old and new looking to the sky, to life in a live and immersive way. To help uncover the hidden truth behind X-Files, we also worked with former Ministry Of Defence UFO expert Nick Pope. A self-confessed ‘real life Fox Mulder’, Pope researched and investigated UFOs, alien abductions, crop circles and other strange phenomena to determine their defence significance for the Ministry from 1991 to 1994.

Speaking at The Investigation Bureau event, Nick Pope said: “Having been lucky enough to work on the real-life X-Files at the Ministry of Defence, there are some spooky parallels with the fictional world in which Mulder and Scully are involved in. Recently the National Archives released some files from the now-disbanded UFO project, detailing once highly classified documents covering UFO sightings, alien abductions, crop circle appearances, animal mutilations and even a government project to try to recruit psychics! It’s these parallels between fact and fiction that show why The X-Files is still as relevant as ever.”

After all, the truth is out there. You just have to listen…
