Tom Daley is so last month…

Last week saw the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series come to the UK for the very first time. Not only were we lucky enough to work on it, we also managed to see the awesome spectacle up close!

Everyone was pretty impressed with the likes of Tom Daley and Co diving off the Olympic board at a height of 10m but the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series takes the sport to another level. Pushing their bodies and minds to the limits, the Cliff Divers go almost three times better diving from a ridiculously impressive height of 27m.

The UK stop of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series was held in an extreme and spectacular location, ‘The Blue Lagoon’ in Pembrokeshire.  The excitement didn’t stop there with a few Olympic legends thrown in the mix too. Competing at the event was Blake Aldridge, Tom Daley’s former diving partner from the Beijing Olympics, and judging the event four-time Olympic gold medalist and diving god – Greg Louganis, pictured below with Lucy and Charlotte from the PG Sport team (if you don’t know who Greg is then shame on you).

The Series culminates in Oman in two weeks time when the UK’s Gary Hunt, the current Cliff Diving World Series Champion, will try to regain the 2012 title from Columbia’s Orlando Duque currently in first place. Keep track of all the action at and on Dave from Sunday 7th October 2012.
