The 2019 Super Bowl was an event full of ups and downs and despite it being dubbed ‘the boring bowl’ by some it was packed full of Tom Brady moments, Maroon 5 and drumline drama as well as TV spots to get everyone tweeting throughout the game. Here are our picks of the best spots and the biggest teases to come out of this year’s Super Bowl.

Microsoft ‘We All Win’ 

Microsoft’s delightful spot showcases the Xbox 1’s adaptive controller for people with disabilities that want to play videogames. The children used in this spot are fantastic, they are charming and charismatic with a genuine passion for multiplayer gaming. The product does not distract from the overall message of the spot, which is “When everybody plays, we all win.” This is an excellent example of product promotion.

 

 

 

 

Bud Light/Game of Thrones

The Bud Light spot pulls off a genius collaboration with everyone’s favourite HBO fantasy series, Game of Thrones. The spot starts off as a parody of the fantasy series by introducing the ‘Bud Knight’ heroically entering a jousting competition to face off against a mysterious foe. When the knights rival is revealed to be ‘The Mountain’, one the antagonists of Game of Thrones, the spot shifts to a dragon fire filled scream fest to promote the final season.

 

 

 

World_Record_Egg

Last month, a picture of an egg became the most popular image ever on Instagram, attracting 52 million likes and beating the record set by Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy announcement. The egg used its newly found fame during the Super Bowl to promote support for mental health. The egg declares that it is cracking under the pressure and suggests for other people to seek support if they are going through similar issues.

The Biggest teases

 

Avengers: Endgame

Disney released the latest tease for their upcoming entry into the box-office juggernaut that is the Marvel cinematic universe, ‘Avengers: Endgame’. This spot is overloaded with dread and suspense as audiences get a glimpse at our remaining heroes who survived the snap at the end of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. No more than a sliver of the plot is given away but we do get to see our heroes in some pretty atmospheric close ups.

 

 

 

 

 

Toy Story 4

Disney is on a massive role, with 2019 looking to be their biggest year in the box office to date. After dropping the latest tease for Avengers: Endgame at the beginning of the Super bowl they could only rise higher in the conversation. They did just that by teasing the return of Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang. This sneak peek shows everyone’s favourite toy spaceman attempting to escape from a funfair game while being heckled at by new characters Ducky and Bunny, voiced by comedy duo Keegan-Michael-Key and Jordan Peele.

 

 

 

Twilight Zone

Jordan Peele was all over this year’s Super Bowl. Appearing as a voice role in Pixar’s ‘Toy Story 4’, showcasing his latest directorial role with ‘Us’ and promoting a CBS exclusive reboot of the incredibly popular show, ‘The Twilight Zone’. Peele ominously strolls through an empty Mercedes-Benz Stadium as the iconic hypnotizing swirl and ghostly theme usher audiences back into the Twilight Zone. “When truth is not the truth, what dimension are you even in?” asks Peele.
