PrettyGreen kick-starts the race to the Virgin Money London Marathon alongside Joe Wicks & George Lamb to celebrate new Audible original series Mo-Joe
Rooftop with a great view of the London skyline? Check. Audible original series to get you pumped for the marathon? Check. Running novice George Lamb doing jumping jacks, joined by his fitness coach Joe Wicks? Double check. Chuck in some spinach, stick it in a blender and it sounds like the recipe for a brilliant media day to us.
Yesterday we hosted media at an adrenaline pumping press junket to celebrate the release of Audible original series, Moe-Joe, an 18-week marathon training diary featuring Sir Mo Farah, Joe Wicks and George Lamb. Press got the chance to join George in his marathon training by taking part in an extra sweaty HIIT session led by expert Joe, followed by the opportunity to quiz George on his training so far and get exercise tips from The Body Coach himself.
As an official audio partner to the Virgin Money London Marathon 2018, Audible created Mo-Joe to give runners the advice, skills and confidence they need to take their training to the next level, regardless of their ability.
The series follows four-time Olympic champion and Sports Personality of The Year 2017, Sir Mo Farah and The Body Coach, Joe Wicks, partner together to form the perfect pair of trainers – funny, engaging and full of useful hints and tips to help you improve your fitness. Together the pair coach presenter George Lamb through a blood, sweat and tears journey from running novice to marathon pro in just 18 short weeks.
Weaving together intimate audio diary entries from George with expert advice on sports science, equipment, nutrition, routines, rest and everything in-between, Mo-Joe captures George’s determination – and at times, dread – as he prepares for the 26.2 mile race at this year’s Virgin Money London Marathon on 22nd April 2018.
New episodes are released weekly so runners can train alongside George as he tackles: finding the right footwear, food shopping for his new marathon-friendly diet, pacing, motivation and final race day hacks to help break through the wall (and avoid chafed nipples).
The series also includes weekly running goals as advised by the Virgin Money London Marathon and Sir Mo Farah, to help listeners keep on track with their running schedule. Listeners who have their own training questions are invited to share their thoughts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #RunWithAudible.
