PERI-PERi Picnic Anyone?

On Wednesday a few of us lucky PrettyGreeners headed over to Soho Square in London to help out at Nando’s first ever Gignics event – what’s that we hear you ask – what’s a GigNic?! Well it’s Nando’s quirky twist on a picnic and gig combo . . .

T4 favourite Jameela Jamil was hosting the Nando’s pop-up stage where the London crowds were entertained with an afternoon of intimate acoustic sets. Josh Osho kicked-off the first set of acts with his amazing hit redemption days (we don’t want to gossip but we think Jameela was a bit of a fan), followed by amazing vocals from Sinead Harnett and SBTV favourite Angel. By lunch the music was in full flow as the Rizzle Kicks rocked the stage, creating a truly electric atmosphere.

After a bit of a break, many failed games of giant Jenga and being embarrassingly impressed by AfroMagic’s wizadry with a deck of cards the performances kicked off again. We all expected Maverick Sabre to be good, but his vocals were haunting and set the tone for the early evening sessions. Here in the office Jack had been banging on about how amazing Alex Clare was all week – and we have to admit, he got it right! Followed by an equally epic set from the Special K’s – now these guys were amazing singers and funny!

The Nando’s food cart was fired-up to keep the acts and audience sustained throughout the day – the Rizzle Kicks boys certainly enjoyed getting their piece of the PERi-PERi action . . .
