Launching The LEGO® NINJAGO Movie on the South Bank
To celebrate the release of The LEGO® NINJAGO Movie, we invited special guests to unleash their inner ninja with Olympic gold medalist Jade Jones at an exclusive spinjitsu-inspired martial arts class and early screening on September 30th in London! Mini ninjas and famous faces from across the UK responded to our call and descended upon Potters Field Park to hone their Spinjitzu skills and celebrate all things NINJAGO.
The likes of Kids TV, current UK Bogies champions Dick and Dom, Team GB’s Double Olympics champion Jade Jones MBE and the UK’s youngest black belt, Jake Frood, were all on hand to help celebrate the upcoming arrival on the latest LEGO big screen adventure along with a few of the Ninja’s themselves!
All guests were inducted to the world of Spinjitsu by receiving a special NINJAGO bandana, before taking their places next to a giant LEGO Ninjago Dragon and learning some key tips & tricks from Jade Jones herself – whether it was about their practice or how she became an Olympic gold medalist. All visitors were inspired by her story and how, like the ninja, she led a secret life to many of her friends before showing the world her martial arts skills! A lucky few even got to practice with the legend on stage to really hone their martial arts skills.
After all visitors were fully trained in the art of Spinjitsu they headed off to The Empire Haymarket to watch the film for themselves, ahead of its previews on Saturday 7th October, a whole week ahead of everyone else!
Our very own Emma Grace loved the film saying “The LEGO Ninjago Movie is the best of the “Brickflicks” so far (I believe the LEGO franchise requires a genre name of its very own down to its god damn brilliance).
10/10 from me and my kids….even if my 6 year old didn’t understand just how awesome Jackie Chan is as Master Wu. The movie has love, laughter, kindness, friendship, family. These bricks have got talent.!”
The LEGO NINJAGO Movie is released in cinemas on 13th October.
