Let’s have a round of aPAWs for the launch of Mighty Mike

Never work with kids or animals they say (and for apparently good reason) but that didn’t stop us quite literally shredding up the rule book to launch Boomerang TV’s new show, Mighty Mike, which follows the haphazard and hilarious efforts of a pug named Mike

Working in partnership with Brother Film, the content starred Anton as the welcoming and attentive Maitre D of the ‘First Mates’ diner, who offers sage advice and hospitality to two dogs looking for a mate, at a dinner dedicated to matching canines with their potential fur-ever friends.

The content sees us introduced to a pug named Paul – who finds work impersonating Mighty Mike – and Emma – a shihtzu suitably unimpressed with Paul’s table manners – as they meet, eat, and engage in small talk in true First Dates style, with Anton on hand to fill the awkward silences. And because creating a piece of comedy-award worthy content* wasn’t enough of a challenge, we decided to take things one paw further by holding a First Dates diner IRL!

On Saturday 4th May, we provided the paw-fect setting for dogs, children and their owners to eat, mingle and be merry in a quest to find their own best mate. Over the course of the special doggy themed lunch, dogs and humans alike were treated to a Mighty Mike-themed two-course meal plus complimentary drink, all topped off with a special doggy bag to take away and remember the experience.

With over 45 pieces of coverage across the full campaign, in the likes of OK, Metro, The Sun and Mirror Online to name a few. It’s safe to say the comms team did a pawsome job at raising awareness around the show (and they also got to pet some absolute good boys during the process – so wining all round!

Mighty Mike has been on air since Wednesday 1st of May, and plays weekdays at 5.30pm on Boomerang – so tune in and check out our First Mates spoof content below.

*No award confirmed but we all found it pretty funny
