Hang gliding is pretty fun

With the end of the year looming, and Strings’ challenge for completing one thing on our bucket list by December at the back everyone’s minds, the PrettyGreeners have been out frantically trying to get theirs done before the Christmas mayhem takes hold.

Being an adventuress at heart and having a weird love for heights, Jess had decided to take a lesson in the sport of hang gliding. She finally found a weekend that promised good weather and last Sunday made it to the North Downs in Surrey ready to fly.

Expecting a full morning of briefing and diagrams of how to launch three metal poles and a stretched parachute into the air, Jess felt a bit bewildered when she was marched straight into a field and told to strap herself in. It turned out to be the best way to learn however and despite a few crashes and narrowly missing the odd cowpat she slowly got the hang of it (excuse the pun). She won’t be joining the British team just yet, but took away a great experience she won’t be forgetting any time soon.

One more thing ticked off the PrettyGreen bucket list…now the countdown to December 31st begins!
