Getting Social at BodyPower, with Maximuscle

One weekend, 90,000 muscle-flexing fitness-mad gym fans and the PrettyGreen Sports team – what’s the worst that could happen? A couple of weeks back we descended on BodyPower once again for the biggest weekend in fitness to help our client, Maximuscle, hold their biggest and best stand yet – and it didn’t disappoint. The event was full of the most golden of golden tans, the shortest of short-shorts and more tickets to the gun show than could sell out Wembley arena – if you haven’t been before, we can promise you that no level of mental preparation could actually ready you for what BodyPower has on show (as our newest member of the Sports team found out). But for those who live and breathe fitness, this is where you meet the elite, most well-respected fitness professionals, muscle models and best of the best when it comes to the fitness and training industry.

 

This year the team were on hand to work their social media magic on the new and improved Maximuscle stand – with some hefty follower and engagement KPIs in tow. But, never ones to shy away from a challenge, the team got to work creating some amazing social content including fist-swinging Boomerangs with Anthony Yarde and plenty of ambassador Instagram Story takeovers from the likes of WBFF World Champ Wole Adesemoye and Celeb PT Bradley Simmonds – resulting in over 1.2K new Instagram followers within a couple of days.

 

There was plenty of action to capture over the three days (a social media manager’s dream), including the Bench Press Challenge where contenders stepped up to complete as many reps as possible of their bodyweight. For those who weren’t up for being centre-stage on the bench press, you could have your photo taken in Ibiza instead! Well, not literally, but all part of Maximuscle’s latest Summer campaign – Ibiza Challenge – fans chose their four poses (which way to the beach?) and flexed their guns like their gains depended on it to build a rotating gif which they could share on their social channels. For those simply looking to try the new products, there was an extensive sampling area where fans could try the brand new Maximuscle bars, BCAAs and plenty of other new products and flavours.  Even with terrible wifi (a social media manager’s nightmare), the team did whatever was necessary to get that connection (including running around outside of the NEC – who says PR isn’t glamorous?) to ensure continual engagement with fans throughout, including a total of 102,674 Instagram Story views – nice!

 

On the last day we thought what better way to reward the crowds than with a giveaway at the end of a jam-packed weekend? So we rounded off Sunday with a mass t-shirt giveaway, with the Maximuscle athletes throwing t-shirts to the 200+-deep crowds who roared and cheered as they snapped up the freebies – an epic end to a solid BodyPower 2017.  Same again next year?
