Fun on the Red Carpet
The great thing about working a Red Carpet is probably the adrenalin rush you get. It’s arguably the most intense 2 hours in any PR persons job. The noise is something that until you’ve done it, you don’t appreciate, everyone is yelling like a cattle auction, snappers, TV crews, publicists, agents, clients, team members, and normally someone in your earpiece.
At times you just want someone to shout “sold”, but then as quickly as it started, it’s over and then it’s a mad dash to edit, caption and get everything out.
But you’re left feeling that you’ve done something that most people only dream off with a blur of memories and a load of funny pictures (luckily we get to do it again tonight for Virgin Media Shorts Award night, which means we’ll have more blurred memories).
“Can someone lift up this umbrella it’s hurting my neck” said Jack.
“Craig I’m your biggest fan, when I heard what you were wearing I went out and bought the same clothes” laughed James.
“I’m actually going to grow a beard, any tips?”
“Gabrielle, I’ve got really long arms so people won’t even notice me” whispered Jack.
“I know you think I’m holding a clipboard but it’s actually a new iPad, which is better than your iPhone” muttered Mark.
“Love Diversity, but will bite my lip when I’m asked about Ashley’s hair” whispered Henders.
“Can’t believe I’ve been given 2 thumbs up for holding this umbrella” said Strings.
“Hey Jack, let’s try and merge with the step and repeat on this one” shouted Kylie.
“If I just turn my head and pretend I can’t see them, maybe they won’t ask me if I’ve got 22 umbrella’s” said Strings.
“Just follow me and I’ll tell you where I got my secret pink wristband that gets me free drinks in Glasgow” beckoned Emma.
