First Stop Manchester…

We’re hitting the road this Saturday as Nando’s xPERimental Skate Jam hits Manchester Central Skate Park for the first stop of the 2010 Tour. Whilst Nick thinks he is a rock n’ roll band’s roadie, gigging around the country, we in the office have all being trying our hand at No Comply Kickflips, following the tutorial videos on the website. However, those of us who remember the 80s are resigned to the fact that our bones creak and we should stick to the cod liver oil tablets – we’ll leave this to the slightly younger audience who bounce rather than break when they fall off!

At Manchester, there is also a special guest on the Wheels of Steel, who will kickstart the event in every sense of the word. Although Shhh! because we are only going to reveal him on the day itself – suffice to say he is a great Example of British dance music… have we said too much? Either way, he will be a brilliant soundtrack to the day and something attendees will remember!

If you can’t make Manchester, then head down to Leicester on September 25 to the Boardroom Skatepark, run by the brilliant Dave and family. Dragon’s Den missed a trick here because Dave has managed to turn an empty warehouse into the East Midland’s biggest skateboarding park, all because his sons took it up as a hobby! To us, that sums up the spirit of the Nando’s xPERimental Skate Jam and with this tour, we hope we can excite the next generation of shredders!
