Clyde on tour

It was love at first site as we first clapped eyes on young Clyde, the wide-eyed, kilted little thistle mascot of The Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

What a legend. Over the eleven days of The Games, this cheery little chap would prove himself to be a vital team member… assisting us in Virgin Media’s Race Bolt press office, making friends with athletes, working with our driver Tam, showing us the sights of Glasgow, keeping morale up with his positive take on life, and of course being a fun person to party with… to echo the words of Lord Smith of Kelvin, Chairman of the event’s organising committee, at the Closing Ceremony: “Clyde will leave Glasgow, but Glasgow will never forget Clyde” or something like that…
