WRU’s Army of Red invade Cardiff
It’s not every day that hundreds of loyal Welsh Rugby Union fans – clad in Wales’ technically-enhanced all-red Under Armour 2013-15 home kit no less – stampede across the Millennium Stadium (or should we say Stadiwm y Mileniwn) pitch. Even rarer, then, will you experience an army roaring with pride to a chorus of Bread of Heaven and fist-pumping heading your way.
Spare a thought then for our battle-hardened cameraman on Wednesday 16th October. Not only did he manage to hold firm when pitted mano-a-mano against the double RBS Six Nations champions before him, but he also helped PrettyGreen produce a fantastic photo spread to encapsulate the ferocity and national drive envisioned during Under Armour’s recent event.
Led by a flag-bearing Leigh Halfpenny alongside an array of Wales stars and Lions heroes in Sam Warburton, Alun Wyn Jones, Alex Cuthbert, Ian Evans and Toby Faletau, the decibel levels were electric and the voices of our Wales faithful did the country proud – this coming from the players’ lips themselves!
A photoshoot, a kit launch, a fan experience (or all the above, in fact), one thing’s for sure – the new-look Wales team have arrived, and they look ready to cement their position as one of the world’s top teams.
